Cyn surprised me with a lovely envelope - full of joy
* every little detail made or choosen with love *
her handmade card is so cute!

isn't the tatted bookmark fantastic, never learned this technique
also the Mug Rug is made from Cyn,
it will sit next to me on the desk now
Cyn sent also a Quilt Sampler Magazine, on page 59 is the Temecula Quilt Co, with an autograph of the owner, personalized to me!
The bookmark hided here ;-)
That's all together in its glory
THANK YOU SO MUCH, my friend
Firstable I'll sew the cute Basket, love the fabrics!
From the Petite-One-Patch_Projekts the little pyramids are calling me
the fabrics are so soft and the colors and patterns - nothing like that avaiable in German quiltstores
Maybe during the freetime after Xmas - no kidds this year
Next week the LQS is starting a new DJ group (with my little help), that will take some time I think.
BTW:we both didn't "EXPECT" something from each other, I think our envelopes must have had a meeting over the big pond ;-)

I won a cute Halloween wallquilt
from my friend Rosa from Canada !!!!!!!!!! YEAH, the best of all - Longarm quilted by Gilbert Crevier (3A Quilting) on "Bertha"
The customers had been curious to see what was in the box, but had no idea what is was. So I was lucky and had nothing to pay.
The only "work" I had to do, was to sew the binding - that happened today- first pics today
I'll show the backside, to show the quilting
THANK YOU SO MUVCH Rosa and Gilbert!!!

Kloster Eberbach / Eberbach_Abbey
Yesterday we had a very nice stroll through the historic rooms of Eberbach Abbey.
It was a combination of a guided tour with historic infos and tasting of 6 different vines during this tour, delicious BTW
* Every picture could be clicked to see it big *
Parts of the movie "The name of the rose" where filmed there.
this was the sleepingroom, built with the effect of optical illusion. the pillars at the end of the room are shorter than the pillars in front, so everybody think the room is much longer than it is - interesting!
and one of the doors

Tomorrow my husband surprised me with the offer to drive to the Textilmarket Benediktbeuren - FUN FUN FUN !!!!!!!!!!!! watch pics of this trip early next week

memories
Today I found out that Bonnie Leman passed away.
When I started to get into patchwork in the early 80s the first magazine I read monthly was her Quilters Newsletter Magazine. The column of her on the 2nd page was the first I read. Barbara Brackman and the Quilters Hall of Fame blog wrote such wonderful words - heartouching comments on both blogs.
My condolence to Bonnies family

vacation - report part III
Tuesday we made another trip - this time to Bamberg. I have to confess the main reason for this destination was a rocking chair. That's a long story, during our last big move one part (the seat) of my beloved rocker got lost. So we decided to give the useless rocker away. I was grumbling from time to time how I missed this rocker. On Sunday I surfed through blogland - you know, following LINK after LINK and SUDDENLY I got to Eve's blog. I fell in love immediatly.
Due to the fact that we didn't made that many trips we planned DH agreed to drive to northern Bavaria to get the rocking chair. Luckily the weather cooperated better than the weather report announced.
The rocker was much better than the picture told me - I'm in heaven! To make the deal even better, DH asked for a good price when we also buy the darling table - YEAH
The nice husband of Eve agreed (after giving her a call to ask if SHE agree !)
Now it was time to visit Bamberg. Only a few raindrops here and there - nothing serious. A nice lunch outside and one ball of icecream and we enjoyed the city. Lovely old buildings and I got inside the Cathedral and visited the "Bamberger Reiter", just in time to listen to a tourguide.

This time Nelli was part of the trip, but no pic - sorry.
