Encouragement

Dorothy is a scrapbooking blogger with an interesting activity right now, I'll send her a selfmade card to bring a smile to somebody as many others I hope. Little things means a lot - specially in these days. Thinking of the economy crisis, the winter blues - we all need some encouraging from time to time. So please visit her blog and follow her call, even the quilter are able to send a card to her, why not a fabriccard??

Snow

After traveling to my friend Monika, who showed several pictures from the Retreat I stopped at home for just one day - before I drove to Berlin. One of the pupils of my old school called us to meet after - 40 ( in words: fourty - YES, that long!! ) years. Very interesting to see these old friends after so many years. We had a lot to talk and to laugh at, but some silent moments as well. Not all of us had good luck all the time, some had serious health problems others lost their jobs. At least I felt lucky with my actual situation.

I spend some time in a scrapbooking shop and got some new toys for my Valentine's present: a Cuttlebug - ta da - what a funny tool. Yesterday I played around with lovely paper and some dies - more about that later

this is my first try to post a little video - so no music or spoken words

EQ layout

My friend Monika started to sew quilts for kids with special needs in her region. Two pretty quilts are finished already. She asked for easy ideas and I played in EQ 6 with the classic pattern Delectable Mountains, because it's easy to sew and has so many options.
Here are some layout's I got

great LiNK for scrapbooker

As some of you know, I'm a fairly new scrapbooker as well. I stamped many years ago when my DD was ~ 8 or 9 years and still have the stamps. Influenced by some "bad" German ladies here I got the bug.
Searching through the WWW I got to Alex' blog and she has a GREAT giveway ending on Sunday - so visit her blog and try to be the lucky winner

Again: new glasses

Due to a special price offer, I got new glasses today, totally different from the other optic

but I like them very much,
it's nice to have a chance to change the style

late pictures from my Xmas gift to my friend

See,
this happens when you play with this
tool -
great fun AND: it's free!!!

Monika got this quilttop and the additional fabric for the backside. I planned to made a complexer layout, but had to reduce the expense, due to timeproblems

Do you remember the turquoise quilt I sewed from the sewing themed fabrics I got from my Secret Pal (who is seriously ill right now - greetings, if you are reading my blog, my dear)
I sewed more blocks than I needed and Monika said: perhaps you'll get a quilt, to your 60th Birthday .......... I thought, why not now? I can do that - smile

Here are my first EQ ideas

and the result at the end, simpler ( sorry, Monika):

***** Gewonnen *****

Many thanks at first to my SSCS Partner from Australia

Unfortunatly I don't know to whom I may sent my thanks, because there was no name on and in the package, just a mysterious card

I got a Xmas tablerunner with handembroidered wreath, a Austalian magazine and notecards

Merry Christmas

Dear bloggers worldwide -
have some pieceful, silent moments

Here in Poland and in Germany, where I'm from we celebrate Xmas on the 24th
Our family tradition starts with coffee, cookies and cake - the whole room full of candles, even on the tree - real candles on a real tree ;-)
My DD traveled to us today and so we pick one present after the other, we look what the others got and how they react - that takes some time and we enjoy each minute of it.
After everybody is hopefully happy we eat:
potatosalad and pastasalad, both homemade
and sausages called "Frankfurter Würstchen" - that's it
Tomorrow a big goose will be in the oven for hours -
the day after tomorrow I have wild boar gulasz -
than days of left overs, for shure

However you celebrate this special day
best wishes from Szczecin
Brigitte

Santa's deadline

Yesterday my parcel started it's journey to .............

( unfortuneatly I can't write the name) and I am lucky I finished exactly at the deadline. Finger crossed the long trip will be safe and lucky.

Who don't LOVE to get a suprise in the postbox???

A very nice lady on the other side of the ocean (in Canada) I'm swapping with sent a nice surprise. I read on our Yahoogroup some days earlier that she asked how to make a fabric postcard, never dreamed about to get this first beauty.

the question of today is: what blocks are we swapping????? any ideas?????

Christmas Siggies

Yesterday, when we came back from our wedding anniversary trip to Krakow I found several parcels. One was a Birthday gift from husband - a very stylish carrycruiser from Reisenthel to transport all the stuff to Retreats.
Great help

Speaking about Retreats - actually are ~ 90 lucky ladies together in the Amish village of Shipshewana/Indiana enjoying their company, the lovely quiltshops Yoder and Lolly's and Rebecca's antique store (where I bought the old Log Cabin Quilt for my husband in April). They had snow on Friday

We too here in Szczecin, can't remember snow that early in Berlin............... I tried to make a little movie, but I flipped the camera and I'm unable to turn the movie :-(

Now to the other important parcel I got, it came from Judi who was our fabulous swapmom. Imagine she swapped ~ 150 x 150 Christmas Siggies ( that means around 22500 blocks ......... )

Once I swapped Siggies from ~ 45 women, that was a job from one afternoon

To give you an idea I'll show you only three Siggies
thanks Susan !!

still thinking (dreaming) this could be a SPECIAL one ???

love this "tree"
